Jim Ryan

Augusta, GA – Entered into rest on Saturday, July 13, 2024, James Joseph "Jim" Ryan, 77, loving husband of 41 years to Debbie Ryan.

Jim was born in Quincey, MA. He was an avid outdoorsman and avid gardener. He loved hunting, fishing, and camping. He enjoyed reading in his down time. He served as a United States Marine and a Vietnam Veteran. He retired as a pipefitter from Plant Vogtle. He was known affectionately as “papa” to his grandchildren. Jim was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. 

Family members in addition to his wife include his children: Kimberly, Patrick, Justin, Danny, and Matthew; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father: John Ryan; mother and stepfather: Norma Ryan Griffin and Charlie Griffin; brothers: Marty Ryan and Jerry Ryan; sister and brother-in-law: Janie Ryan-Powers and Buzz Powers.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 3, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors with Dr. Don Prosser officiating.
