James "Slick" Stinson

Hephzibah, GA – Entered into rest on Monday, February 22, 2021, James Elliot Stinson, 75, husband of Carol Stinson.

Slick was a retired Army veteran and Pipe Welder. He was a member of the Local 52 in Montgomery, Alabama and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and being outdoors in nature. Slick loved spending time with his family and he was known for being a prankster as he loved making people laugh.

Family members in addition to his wife include: his son: Michael Byrd (Christy); daughter: Rhonda Street (Jason); grandchildren: Kayla (Joshua), Wilson, Misty (Craig), Jared (Sara), Ashley, Taylor and Josh; great-grandchildren: Kaiden, Haylei, Hunter, Hannah; sisters: Glennie Colbert, Shirley Holder, Donna Mae Nestler, Carol Matchett; brother: Ralph Stinson. Slick was preceded in death by his daughter: Lori Michelle Baker; granddaughter: Christy Lynn; brothers: Roger Stinson, Johnnie Stinson, David Stinson.

The funeral service will be held Friday, February 26,2021 at 2:00 PM at Hillcrest Memorial Park with Rev. Valeria Levesque officiating.

The Family will receive friends Friday prior to the service from 12:00 to 1:30 PM at Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors, 214 Davis Rd., Augusta, GA 30907 (706) 364-8484.
