James William “Jimmy” Ford
Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Wednesday, January 25, 2017, James William Ford, 79, loving husband of Debbie Ford.
Jimmy was a native of Augusta and attended ARC. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He retired from the Richmond County Sheriff’s Department after serving for many years, with his final position as a Lieutenant in the Criminal Investigations Division.
Family members in addition to his wife include children: Frank Ford (Robin), Aiken, SC, Tara Ford-Romes (Mike), Grovetown, GA, Susan Ford Gonzalez (Manuel), Buford, GA, Megan G. Ford, Martinez, GA, Michael C. Ford, Evans, GA, Jonathan J. Ford, Evans, GA; siblings: Mary Ford, Heyward Ford, Cassey Langham, James Ford, Patsy Ford, Patricia Pitts, Jack Ford and 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Bunny Ford Faulk and granddaughter, Cassidy Faulk.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 28, 2017 at 4:00 P.M. at West Acres Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Harmon and Rev. Greg Glover officiating.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Eugene Yu, Willy Hogan, Ray Heath, Ron Colvin, R. L. Duckworth, Jimmy Whitehead, Owen Crickenburger, Richmond County Sheriff’s Department (particularly CID office from 1979-1999), Enterprise Augusta Marketing Lot, Evans Hardee’s Breakfast Club and Richmond Academy Monday Lunch Bunch.
