Augusta, GA - Jane Bailey Zeyfang, 93, beloved wife of the late Robert (Bob) W. Zeyfang entered into rest in her home on Thursday, December 15, 2022. Mrs. Zeyfang was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. A. R. Bailey of Augusta. She attended Tubman High School for Girls and received a BS in Business Administration and a Teaching Degree from Georgia State College for Women. A faithful member of St John United Methodist Church, she enjoyed singing in the Choir and being a member of the John Minter Sunday School Class, serving as class Secretary and Treasurer. At St John Church, she met Bob Zeyfang, a chemical engineer who grew up in Pittsburgh, PA and who had been transferred from Indiana by EI DuPont to assist in the startup of the Savannah River Plant. They were married in 1956 and were together until his passing away earlier this year in September. Jane was a dedicated classroom teacher in Richmond County, serving at Sue Reynolds Elementary School, a Substitute Teacher as her children grew up and then at Glenn Hills High School.
She very much enjoyed her gardens and flower arranging, participating in the Exchange Club Flower Show for a number of years. She was a dedicated member of the Spade and Trowel Garden Club, serving as President and also Secretary and Parliamentarian of the Board.
Survivors include sons, Rob Zeyfang (Terri) of Evans, GA and David Zeyfang (Linda) of Summerfield, NC and daughter Lynn Garland (John) of the Isle of Palms, SC. Also 4 grandchildren, Bailey Garland, Isle of Palms, SC; Matthew Zeyfang, Raleigh, NC; Anna Zeyfang, Raleigh, NC and Samantha Garland, Clemson, SC.
A Memorial Service will be held 11am Tuesday, December 27th at St. John United Methodist Church with Rev. Jenny Anderson and Chaplain Jack Foley of AGAPE Hospice officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service in the Sanctuary at 10am.
The family embraces and is grateful for Jane and Bob's caregivers these past 4 years, especially Stacie Ferrell, Janice Brandon, Yolanda Jackson, Wendy Ferrier, Izilla Reynolds and Patricia Bradshaw.
