AUGUSTA, Ga. – Entered into rest Sunday, September 27, 2009, Mrs. Janice Angielinia Huffman, 50, beloved wife and soul mate of Chester V. Huffman, Jr.

Mrs. Huffman was a native of Augusta and resided in Martinez, Georgia. Over her many years of public service, she worked with the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office as both a Dispatcher and a 9-1-1 Supervisor. She later worked for the Augusta Police Department as a Dispatcher and certified Peace Officer. She was employed by the Richmond County Solicitor General for many years and was an Investigator with the State of Georgia Office of the Public Defender. Her final law enforcement post was with the Richmond County Marshal’s Office, where she made many friends serving proudly at the security post of the main entrance to the Municipal Building. Janice also had a nursing education and a passion for medicine—she was bright, brilliant, and beautiful—she was a Christian and loved the Lord with every breath. Her love of flowers led her to create many beautiful live and artificial arrangements for family and friends. She had a new-found passion for the game of golf and was a member of the Augusta Chapter of the Executive Women’s Golf Association.

Janice is preceded in death by her father, Mr. Joseph Edward Cole, Sr. In addition to her husband, family members include her mother: Janice H. Cole, Martinez; daughter: Angielinia Downs and husband Ryan of Augusta; stepdaughters: Lauren Huffman of Savannah, Kristen Hyman and husband Zack of Augusta; son: Anthony Strelec and fiancé Haley, Zanesville, Ohio: stepson: Clinton Huffman, Jacksonville, NC; sisters: Deborah Hardin and husband Byrnie, Cheryl Shields and husband David, North Augusta, Donna Powell, Teresa Cole, Martinez; brother: Joseph Cole, Jr. and wife Nina, North Augusta.
