Augusta, GA – Entered into rest May 9, 2013 in her home, Janie Marie Edge, 82, wife of Kenneth “Ken” W. Edge.
A native of Beaver Island Township, Mrs. Edge had lived in Augusta since 1964. She was a member of Warren Baptist Church and the Joy Sunday School class. Marie was the manager of Photo Bugs at National Hills and the rest of the Augusta area, retiring in 1986 after 15 years. She enjoyed writing poetry for her family and friends. Marie was a loving wife, mother and dearly loved her cats: N.C. and Buddy.
In addition to her husband, family members include daughter: Mitzi Edge of Austin, TX; son: Cris Edge of Augusta, GA; sister: Carlene Kallam of Mayodan, NC; and brothers: Michael Cox of Mayodan, NC and Roy Cox of Mayodan, NC. She is preceded in death by her parents: Roy C. Cox and Lottie Bullins and sister: Katie McBride.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Terry Doss and Rev. Phillip Edge officiating. Interment will be held at Westover Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends Monday evening, from 6:00 P.M. until 8:30 P.M. at
