Javad Abolghassem
Javad Abolghassem, 54, died March 3, 2016 after a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Lee Hollingsworth Abolghassem for 28 years. Javad was a native of Tehran, Iran. He lived in the Augusta area for the past 28 years.
He was a graduate of Georgia Southern University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and a Master’s Degree in Industrial Management. This led him to a long career as an instructor and program coordinator at Aiken Technical College. He was known to many as a kind and generous man with a big heart and great sense of humor.
In addition to his wife Lee, he is survived by his daughter: Corey Lee Abolghassem and son: William Reza Abolghassem of Martinez. Javad was the son of Reza and Molook Abolghassem and the older brother of Majid, Mehdi, and Eliheh, all of Tehran, Iran.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 7, 2016, at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with The Rev. Robert Fain officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until the time of service.
