Jeanette Helms Kelley

Augusta GA – Entering into rest Friday morning, December 22, 2023, surrounded by family at her home, Mrs. Jeanette Helms Kelley, 96, wife of the late William (Bill) Thomas Kelley.

Jeanette was born and grew up in Atlanta, GA.  She graduated from Commercial High School and worked in Atlanta.  She married Bill Kelley in 1947 and they spent most of their lives in Augusta, GA.  She was a faithful member of Warren Baptist Church.  Jeanette’s life was centered around her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Jeanette loved working in her yard and traveling with Bill and family friends.  She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  

Family members include her three children:  Cheryl Kelley Andrews (Frank), William Thomas Kelley, Jr. (Sandy), Leslie Kelley Polatty (Mills); eight grandchildren:  Richie Andrews (Julie), Holly Andrews (Brandon), Ryan Andrews (Mary), Kathryn McMahon (Marc), Matthew Kelley, Michael Kelley (Amanda), Anna Kelley Polatty Chapman (Josh), Caroline Polatty; and five great-grandchildren: Kate Andrews, Meg Andrews, Clara Rae Chapman, Elise Kelley Chapman, and Nathan Chapman.

We want to thank Jeannie Murray and Max, Brenda Robinson, and Vera Collins for their loving care and friendship.  The family would like to give special thanks to her caregivers at Georgia Hospice Care.

A private service will be held at Westover Memorial Park.
