Jeff Carroll

Augusta, GA – Entered into rest on Saturday, August 17, 2024, Mr. John Jeffery “Jeff” Carroll, 74, loving husband of 50 years to Rhonda Kerby Carroll.

Jeff was born in Cheyenne, Wyoming but called Augusta home for 71 years. He attended Tubman Junior High, was a 1968 graduate of the Academy of Richmond County and attended Augusta College. Jeff was a baseball pitcher at both ARC and Augusta College. After college, he began his 30 plus years in retail management at J.B. Whites/ Dillards. He was an avid sports fan but especially loved Georgia Bulldog Football. He thoroughly enjoyed the game of golf, specifically the Masters Golf Tournament and golfing with his childhood friend, Gary Fulmer. Jeff also loved being outdoors and working in the yard. He had a passion for music with his favorite musicians being The Allman Brothers, James Taylor and James Brown. He was a member of the Church of the Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Most of all, Jeff loved spending time with his family.

Family members, in addition to his wife, include his son: Chad Carroll; daughter: Leslie Carroll McLeary (Marty); grandchildren: Tucker and Trace McLeary; and sister: Deborah Carroll. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Geraldine Carroll, sister, Jeannine Carroll, and brother, Dennis Carroll.

Visitation with the family will begin at 4:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 22nd, followed by the memorial service at 5:00 P.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors with Fr. Jacob Almeter officiating.
