Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Thursday, October 14, 2010, Jerry Allen Reese, Sr., 75, husband of Pam Reese.
Allen worked as the district manager of Winn-Dixie stores for 45 years. He had a great work ethic, never complained, and always put others first. A beloved family man, he deeply loved his grandchildren to whom he was known as “Papa.” Allen was a member of Curtis Baptist Church in Augusta, GA and he was in Tommy Shelton’s Sunday School Class.
Family members include: his wife and sons: Jerry Allen Reese, Jr. of North Augusta, S.C., James Clarence Reese (Susie) of Augusta, GA, and Jeremy Brooks Reese (Lauren) of Atlanta, GA, daughter: Julie Reese Hadden (Glen) of Grovetown, GA, stepchildren: Mark Neal and Audra Neal of North Augusta, S.C., sisters: Barbara Konczal, Sandra Brown, and Nancy Wood, brothers: J.W. Reese and Joel Reese, a special aunt: Anne Roberson of Augusta, GA, grandchildren: April, Melissa, Alicia, Jimmy, Heather, Ellen, Jennifer, Summer, Savannah, Grant and Elle, and 3 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday, October 18, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel at Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Sherrell Dunn officiating. Interment will be at Westover Memorial Park. Honorary Pallbearers will be the “Grumpy Old Men’s Club.”
