Mr. Jerry Jackson Lee, Sr.

Augusta, GA – Mr. Jerry “Jack” Lee, Sr., 84, loving husband of 62 years to the late Virginia T. Lee, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, September 3, 2016.

Mr. Lee was born and raised in Dunn, North Carolina. He served in the United States Army for 23 years, retiring in 1970 at the rank of Sergeant First Class. He later went to work at Gracewood State School and Hospital, and retired in 1997. He was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church. He loved reading and studying the Word of God, and would share the Gospel wherever he went. He was an avid fan of western movies, and his greatest joy was spending time with his family. Mr. Lee was a generous and loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend.

Family members include his daughters: Jackie Conner and husband Ray, Sr., and Pam Laudino; sons: Jerry J. Lee, II, Glenn Lee, Sr. and wife Carol; grandchildren: Ray Jr., Shelly, Jackson, Stephanie, Lee, Glenn Jr., Tyler, Grant, Nathan, Georgia, Jordan, and Aubrey; 13 great grandchildren; and many other loving family members. In addition to his wife, he is preceded in death by his parents: Jesse J. and Flora B. Lee; brothers: Jesse Jr., Layton, Mitchell, and Armon; sisters: Catherine, Geraldine and Francis; and grandson: Micah.

Funeral services will be held Friday, September 9, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Jerry Pittman officiating. Burial will follow in Bellevue Memorial Gardens. Honorary Pallbearers will be Mr. Lee’s grandsons.
