Martinez, GA – Mr. Charles Gerald “Jerry” Logan, Sr., 84, entered into rest on Monday, February 14, 2022, at his residence.
Jerry was a big man with a wide, joyful smile who lived life to the fullest! His booming laugh was given freely and often. Jerry loved big and – other than his family – his first love was the sea. He was longtime owner of Kelly Paint and Body, but when he retired, he sailed all around the world on his boat with his friend Carl, collecting friends and memories along the way. After returning from his life’s grand adventure, he settled in and moved on to his next love: golf. He golfed every minute he could, primarily at West Lake Country Club where he was a member. Golf was his time to share stories and laughter with his many friends and he enjoyed their company as much as they enjoyed his. Jerry was a huge Georgia Bulldog fan, often seen sporting his red Georgia baseball cap all over town. It gave him great joy to see his team win a National Championship before he left us. And all while Jerry was busy living his best life, he loved his children and grandchildren enormously – always making sure everyone was taken care of and knew how very much he loved them. Jerry will be remembered by all who knew him for his easy smile, his generous heart, his great stories and his love for them all.
Family members include his son; Mark Logan; daughter Kelley Mozell Logan; grandchildren: Anna Nicole Logan, Ashlyn Saylor Logan, Macy Cecilia Logan and Suzannah-Cay Logan-Sasser; best friend: Carl Parent and many other loving family members. He was preceded in death by his son; Charles “Chuck” G. Logan, Jr.; parents; Pete Logan and Nell Berry and siblings; Ronnie Logan, Carolyn Logan, Mickey Logan and Joe Logan.
A memorial service will be Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev, Tom Kalliokoski officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
Feel free to send flowers as Jerry loved flowers and often sent them to those he loved. If you feel so moved, you may send a donation in Jerry’s memory to a charity of your choice.
