SGM (Retired) Jesse H. Patton

Evans, Ga. – Entered into rest October 14, 2023 at 6:12 P.M. after a long term illness, SGM (Retired) Jesse H. Patton husband to Mrs. Hildegard Patton.

SGM Patton was born April 16, 1935 in a mill village in Greenville, South Carolina to the late Joseph (Joe) and Susie Patton. A decorated patriot of 46 years (26 years U.S. Army and 20 years Civil Service).

Jesse was a devoted husband of 65 years to Hildegard Schmid of Munich, Germany, a loving father to his son George Patton of Augusta, Georgia and to his daughter Diana Blackwelder of Washington, DC, a proud grandfather to Zane Groves of Augusta, along with 2 beautiful great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Carolyn Smith, who currently resides in North Carolina. His three other siblings, Francis Patterson, James Patton and Betty Joe Jasper preceded him in death.

SGM Patton will be celebrated with full military honors at Fort Jackson National Cemetery on Friday, October 20, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. In Columbia, SC.
