Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Tuesday, February 5, 2013, Mr. James William “Jim” Clark of Augusta.
Family members include his daughter: Margaret Clark Gibb and her husband Todd; sons: James William Clark Jr. and wife Laura; John Kinsey Clark and wife Aileen; grandchildren: John Patrick Clark, Elizabeth Abney Gibb, James Kinsey Clark, Kinsey Lee Clark, Emma Kaitlin Gibb, Anna McNair Gibb, William Allan Gibb and James Rooks Logue Gibb.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 11, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Church of the Good Shepard with The Rt. Rev. Robert Fain officiating. Burial will follow in the church garden. He requested before his death that everyone who attended his funeral dress in their best golf attire.
Mr. Clark was a native of Leaksville,North Carolina. He received an Associates Degree from Wingate College where he played basketball and baseball and was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals organization. He was in U.S. Army from 1957 until 1960. In 1996 he retired from Ryder Truck Rental as District Manager. He was a member of the Augusta State Birdie Club and a member of the Forest Hills Golf Club. He was a member the Georgia Bulldog Club and a past member of the Rotary Club. He was a longtime member of The Church of the Good Shepherd.
