Evans, GA – Entered into rest surrounded by family and friends on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, James F. Klett, 69, loving husband of 34 years to Debra Kay Klett.
Jim was born December 31, 1952, to George and Dolores Klett in Pensacola, Florida as the eldest of four children. Being the son of a Navy man, he traveled the world. He was a retired structural engineer with a career of 43 years; working for Bechtel Engineering at Vidalia, GA, Wolf Creek in Kansas, and SRS in South Carolina, as well as Orano, Inc. Despite having seen this country as part of his career, he has made his home in the Augusta area for the last 30 years.
Jim was a lifelong Catholic Christian who was a member of St. Teresa’s parish in Grovetown, and a full covenant member of the Alleluia Community.
He leaves behind his wife Debra, five children: Ron Michael Scantlin (Gosia). Amber Dawn Jarriel (Billy), Elyssa Marie Klett, Gregory Jacob Klett, Matthew Paul Klett; six grandchildren, Sophia and Carson Scantlin, Evan and Samantha Pate, Nate and Katie Jarriel; mother: Dolores Klett; brother: Daniel William Klett (Suzanne); sisters: Barbara Ann Klett-Spicer (Stephen) and Mary Elizabeth Klett-Southerland (Mark) as well as several loving nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, Dec. 30, 2022, at 10:00 am at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Alleluia Community Cemetery in Dearing, Georgia. A live stream of the funeral Mass may be viewed at
