Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Wednesday, February 22, 2012, Mr. Jimmy Edward Smith, 40, husband of Mrs. Alicia Reece Smith.
Mr. Smith was a native of Arkansas and has lived in Augusta for 25 years. He was a self employed painter. Mr. Smith was a loving family man, husband, father and friend.
Family members in addition to his wife include: children: Kayla Smith, Brianna Smith, Jimmy Smith, Jr., Summer Smith and Emily Smith; parents: mother, Marjorie L. Smith and father, Roger D. Smith; brother: Toby Smith; sisters: Reissa Smith and Jeanie Drawdy; niece: Jennifer Drawdy and many other nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet and Son. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Doug Powell, Max Wilcher, Wesley Hartley, Toby Smith, Thomas Cason, Mike Brown, Jr., and Mike Ellis.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the education fund for the children at First Bank, 375 Fury’s Ferry Rd., Martinez, GA 30907. All branches will accept contributions.
The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
