Mrs. Hester was from Augusta, GA. Although she spent most of her life in Augusta, she lived in Stockbridge, GA from 1997-2002. Mrs. Hester last worked at Augusta Cardiology Clinic. JoAnne loved making stained-glass, arts and crafts and painting. She enjoyed holidays, helping others and believed it was her mission in life to be a mother. JoAnne had been sick for a while, yet she passed away peacefully in her sleep Wednesday morning.
Family members include daughters: Erin B. Ivey (Rocky) of Aiken, SC, Amber McCall (Ryan) of Grovetown, GA; grandsons: Avery Farthing, James Ivey, and Spencer Farthing; step-children: Jason Borseth (Debra), Jennifer Hester, and Michelle Jordan (Nathan) of Eagles Landing, GA, and Vann Hester and Ian Hester of Panama City, FL; first cousins: Maloy Ogden (Barbara) of Edgefield, SC. Her best friend was Charles Toole of Augusta, GA.
At JoAnne’s request, there will not be a public burial service. However, there will be a private graveside service Monday afternoon. JoAnne had asked for no public obituary in the newspaper. We are honoring her request.
