Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Friday, January 6, 2017, Mrs. JoAnn Hughes Barron, 76, wife of the late Mr. Paul Floyd Barron, Sr.
Mrs. Barron was a native of Elmira, NY but lived in the Augusta area for some time. She was a devoted military wife and a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who raised five children. Mrs. Barron enjoyed spending time with her family and was an avid sports fan for the Dallas Cowboys and the Atlanta Braves. She loved to read and watch sci-fi movies.
Family members include children: Paul Barron, Jr. and wife Ginger, Julie Orwen; Duane Barron and wife Erika, Michelle Pepper and Sean Barron and wife Teresa; 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Barron was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Kenneth Hughes and grandson, Justin Orwen.
A memorial service will be Wednesday, January 11, 2017, 2:00 P.M.in the chapel at Thomas Poteet & Son. Inurnment will follow at Florence National Cemetery in Florence, SC at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 190 Knox Abbott Drive Suite 301, Casey, SC 29033.
