Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at University Hospital, Joanne T. Bush, 64, wife of Alvin C. Bush.

Mrs. Bush was born March 23, 1946 to Jessie Truesdale and Geneva L. Gills in Lancaster, SC. Her joy in life was loving her family and giving herself to others, this made her a great wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed interior design, cooking, family and above all, her grandchildren. Mrs. Bush was passionate about her faith in Jesus Christ. She regularly ministered at local nursing homes. Her favorite words of encouragement were “It’s going to be a better day” and “One day at a time”. Mrs. Bush was a member of Augusta Deliverance Evangelistic Church.

Family members in addition to her husband include son: Derrick Bush, daughters: Sheila Williams and husband Augustus of Sharpsburg, NC, Maxine Hopkins of Atlanta, GA, Sharon Ellison of Atlanta, GA, Terry Ray and husband James of Augusta, GA and Crystal Jackson of Augusta, GA, nineteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, sisters: Doretha Moment and Elizabeth Green, brothers: George Truesdale, Hiawatha Truesdale and Curtis Truesdale, a host of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Bush was preceded in death by her parents, brother: Charles Truesdale and sister: Jessie Mae Morton.

Funeral services will be held Monday, October 4, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Thomas Poteet and Son with Minister Gregory Butler officiating. Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Derrick Bush, Jimares Bush, Charles Truesdale, Anthony Lowry, Christopher Wiley and Maurice Anglin.
