Augusta, GA – Joe D. Brown entered into rest on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 with his beloved wife at his side.
Mr. Brown was born in 1936 in Swainsboro, GA. Don served in the Navy and afterwards began his long career as a pilot with Augusta Aviation until his retirement. Don was a loving husband a, father, grandfather and friend to all who knew him. He loved golf, hunting and fishing.
Family members include his loving wife: Helga E. Brown; his children: Joe Brown and his wife Rebecca, Melinda Howell, Mary Pinte and her husband Rick, Angelika Shipp, Rebecca A. Templeman and her husband Dan and Yvonne Wyman and her husband Herb; 12 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephew and one special friend: Joe Tobias and his wife Emilie. He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter.
A celebration of his life will be in the Chapel at Thomas Poteet & Son, Saturday, October 3, 2015 at 11:00 A.M.
The family expresses love and a special thank you to his caretaker Denise, the Medical Center of Georgia, along with those who prayed for him.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society 2607 Commons Blvd, Augusta, GA 30909.
