Dublin, Ga. – John Brady Daniel a native of Augusta, GA, passed away on Monday, December 7, 2009. He was 70 years old. Mr. Daniel was preceded in death by his father Moye L. Daniel, Sr. and is survived by his mother Evelyn Spires Daniel of Evans, GA, his wife, Wanda S Daniel of Rentz, GA, his brothers; Moye L. Daniel, Jr and wife Marion of Evans, GA and David A Daniel and wife Rochelle of Appling, GA and his sons John Preston Daniel of Vienna, VA, Richard Brady Daniel of Augusta, GA, Thomas Bernard Daniel of Atlanta, GA and Christopher Wayne Coomes of Atlanta, GA. Mr. Daniel is also survived by six granddaughters, two grandsons and a great-granddaughter.

Mr. Daniel graduated from the Academy of Richmond County (ARC) where he lettered in football and track. Mr. Daniel was the starting left halfback for the ARC 1956 Georgia State AAA Football Championship team and was a member of the ARC 1957 Georgia State AAA 440-yard relay championship team. After high school Mr. Daniel worked in the newsprint manufacturing industry and became a sought after paper machine and mill manager in Georgia, Alabama and Mississippi. Mr. Daniel retired in 2006 and was a volunteer at the Talking Book Center of the Oconee Regional Library System. Mr. Daniel was also an accomplished sportsman and “bar-b-quer”.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 10, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors with Rev. Eddie Bradford officiating.
