John “Hal” Byne

Grovetown, GA – Entered into rest Thursday, June 28, 2018, Mr. John Hallahan Byne, 71, loving husband of 50 years to Mrs. Sarah Toomey Byne.

Mr. Byne was born in Augusta and was a member of St. Teresa of Avila. He graduated from ARC in 1966 and was 3rd lieutenant in the ROTC. Hal was a very active husband and friend, where daily he applied his acumen and his wit. He was an avid boater and fisherman and once owned Clarks Hill Lake. Mr. Byne worked as a field technician for National Cash Register for 27 years.

Family members, in addition to his wife include son: Wes Byne (Kim); daughter: Shannon Byne Denton (Ray); grandchildren: Brittney Denton, Helen Denton, Sophia Byne, Amelia Byne and Marina Byne; and sister: Colleen Davis.

The funeral service will be private

In lieu of flowers the family requests charitable donations be made to St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church, 4921 Columbia Road, Grovetown, GA 30813.
