Augusta, GA. – Mr. John “Bubba” Emile Hummel, Jr., 61, entered into rest Tuesday, June 30, 2009, was the son of the late Dr. John Emile Hummel and Mrs. Laurene Barnes “Geechee” Hummel.
Bubba was a native and lifelong resident of Augusta, GA. He retired from the sales industry. Bubba had been very active in many civic activities including the Augusta Futurity, Augusta Southern National and Cooking for Kids.
Family members include his sisters: Kathryn L. Hummel, Mary Lynn H. Satterwhite and husband, H.D., Mela H. Evans, Margaret E. Hummel; daughters: Brooke and Palmer; fiancé: Marilyn Holley Roberts of Augusta; stepchildren: Veronica Roberts Lack and husband Danny, Earl Roberts and wife Deana; 7 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson and four nieces and nephews He was preceded in death by a brother: Christopher Lawton Hummel.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, July 2, 2009 at 6:00 P.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son. The family will receive friends following the service, from 6:30 until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
