Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Sunday, March 5, 2017, John Hadden, Jr. age 79, loving husband of Joanne Johnson Hadden.
Mr. Hadden was a native of Jefferson County but moved to Augusta in 1953. He was owner and operator of Phoenix Printing Company until his health declined in 1991. He was a member of Big Stevens Creek Baptist Church in North Augusta, SC. Mr. Hadden’s greatest joy in life were his grandchildren, who lovingly called him Granga. He also enjoyed fishing and was an avid Nascar fan.
Family members in addition to his wife, include sons: Jeffery L. Hadden (Roxanne) and Joseph L. Hadden; grandchildren: John Wallace Hadden (Logan), Kaitlyn H. Adams (Taylor), Blake Hadden, Brent Hadden, Carter Hadden; great-granddaughter: Avery Hadden; daughter-in-law: Emily Hadden; sisters: Bobbie Jean McCoy, Edith Siegler, Deane Hadden.
Mr. Hadden was preceded in death by his parents: Sam and Lois Hadden; brother: Jack; sisters: Anne and Linda
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 9, 2017, 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Dr. Phillip C. Burden officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Avera, Ga.
