John Gerard Herrick Jr.

Augusta, GA – Entered into rest on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 John Herrick, 60, loving husband of Tami Herrick.

John was a man of great faith, who was selfless and devoted to serving others. A very involved member of St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church, he also enjoyed hunting and fishing in his spare time. John was a natural engineer, who worked as a designer at Textron Specialty Vehicles. He could fix anything, including a great meal! He will be remembered for his goofy sense of humor and for being the most loving and devoted husband, father, and G-Poppy.

Family members in addition to his wife include his children: Jasmine Patterson (Seth), Haylee Osburn (James), Austin Herrick, Ian Herrick, Peyton Herrick, Gabe Herrick, Averi Herrick, and Noah Herrick; grandchildren: Alaric Patterson, “Theadore” Osburn, Grayson Patterson, and Judith Osburn; siblings: Lillian Stephens (Keith), Kathy Gregson, Susan Lemble (Bob), Barbara Herrick, Ann Turgeon (Greg), Michael Herrick (Pam), Mary Wiggins, Jimmy Herrick (Terri), Carolyn Stebbins, Tommy Herrick and Steve Herrick (Dawn). He is preceded in death by his parents: Elizabeth and John Herrick, Sr., brother: David Herrick and brother-in-law: Joe Gregson.

A funeral Mass will be held Friday, September 3, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church with Father Theodore Agba celebrant. Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park. Mr. Herrick’s sons and sons-in-law will serve as pallbearers.
