John Louis McMahon
Augusta, GA – John “Jack” Louis McMahon, peacefully entered into rest on Friday, November 8th, 2024, while surrounded by his family. Mr. McMahon, 67, was the loving husband of Sue Seklecki-McMahon.
Jack was born in Bordeaux, France in 1957. He was the son of U.S. Army Lt. Col. Robert John McMahon and Louise McNair McMahon. Jack was raised in Augusta, GA and graduated from Westside High School. He spent the majority of his professional career with Thermal Ceramics. He also ventured as an entrepreneur operating various landscaping and handyman services as a skilled “Jack” of all trades. While taking great pride in his work, he often brought his children and grandchildren along to teach them important skills and life lessons. Jack was a proud father and “Grandaddy”. His fondest moments were found on the lake with family, on a sideline or in an audience watching his grandchildren compete or perform, or even under the hood of an old car teaching a loved one the details of the job.
He is preceded in death by his parents as well as first wife, Lisa H. McMahon. Surviving family members, in addition to his wife, include his children: Jenny Simmons and her husband Nelson, Holly Dawson and her husband Brandon, and Andrew McMahon and his wife Sally; step-children: Christian Seklecki and his wife Leigh, Summer Swenson and her husband Gabriel, Martin Seklecki, Allison Benningfield and her husband Scott, Mitchell Seklecki and his wife Kristin, Chandler Seklecki, Kolbe Seklecki, and John Seklecki; grandchildren: Audrey, Henry, Genevieve, Lillian, Abram, Rhett, Theodore, Sōl, Oliver, Katherine, Davis, Lucy, Ezra, Makenzie, Emelia, Emma Kay, and Maris.
The family will receive friends Friday, November 15, 2024 from 1:00 P.M. until the time of the service at 2:00 P.M. at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Fr. John Lyons officiating. Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park.
