Augusta, GA – Entered into rest March 18, 2013 at Doctor’s Hospital, John Monroe Dixon, 55, husband of Helena B. Dixon.
Mr. Dixon graduated from Butler High School in 1977. He attended Augusta Technical College where he studied welding. He was a retired member of Iron Worker Local Union 709. He was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church. He loved hunting, fishing, NASCAR and cooking but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family. He considered them to be his best friends.
Other family members include son: Ryan Daniel Dixon; daughter: Allison Dixon Oliver and husband Sean; step-son: Ricky Morris and wife Nikki; step-daughter: Aubrey R. Morris and husband Robert; grandchildren: Logan, Joshua, Madison, Dawson and Reese; and brother: Billy Dixon and wife Sheri.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, March 21, 2013 at 3:00 P.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet and Son with Rev. J. Kevin Jones officiating.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 2:00 P.M. until the time of the service.
