John Aldon Sogge
Augusta, GA – Wednesday, July 18, 2018, John Aldon Sogge, 88, loving husband of 65 years to Lois Ganus Sogge (his angel), went home to be with Jesus.
John Sogge was a native of Windom, MN but has lived in Augusta for 68 years. Son of John O. and Anna (Vangen) Sogge. He was 100% Norwegian Viking. He was a veteran of the US Army and retired as a supervisor with both E.I. DuPont and Westinghouse Co. John was a longtime member of Fleming Baptist Church where he participated in many faithful roles, including Deacon Emeritus. He was raised on a farm, being the 9th of 12 children, where his strong work ethics took root. He loved sports, especially the Braves, and was given the nick name Swish Shot Sogge in high school. John helped produce the rocket fuel that took the Viking spacecraft to Mars, where his name is now incapsulated on the surface of the planet. Viking blood kept him from never giving up. He ran a long hard race to the finish as his precious angel here on earth sang him to glory into the arms of heavens angels. John will be greatly missed by all who love him dearly.
