Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Tuesday, October 19, 2010, at Doctors Hospital, Mrs. Johna Emily Sheppard, 85, wife of 66 years to Mr. Harold Lamar Sheppard.
Mrs. Sheppard was a native of Avera, GA, but lived all over the world as a U.S. Air Force wife. She was a homemaker and a member of Bayvale Baptist Church. Mrs. Sheppard was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Family members include, husband: Harold L. Sheppard, daughters: Lautryann Jilka and husband Edward, Kay L. Sexton and husband Wayne, grandchildren: Bryan Jilka, Kim Peterson, Bradley Sexton and Amanda Sexton,
great-grandchildren: Nicholas and Hannah Peterson, Ryley and Chase Jilka. Mrs. Sheppard was predeceased by her brother James Stewart Williams.
Funeral services will be held Friday, October 22, 2010 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Thomas Poteet and Son with Rev. James Bland officiating. Burial will be at 3:00 p.m. in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Avera, GA.
Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 1899 Central Ave. Augusta, GA 30904.
