Johnnie G. Phillips

Augusta, GA – Entered into rest on Monday, November 20, 2023, Mrs. Johnnie G. Phillips, 98, loving wife of the late Marcus F. “Mike” Phillips, Jr. for over 63 years. She is survived by her son Marcus F. “Frankie” Phillips III and a number of nieces and nephews.

Johnnie was a member of Central Christian Church, a life member of Telephone Pioneers, OED Genealogical Society, Edgefield, South Carolina Genealogical Society, Inc., and the Hatcher Family Research Association. She loved reading, line dancing and researching family history. Johnnie was retired from Southern Bell with 33 ½ years.

The funeral service will be held Friday, November 24, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Milton Summerall officiating. Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Central Christian Church, 220 Crawford Avenue, Augusta, GA 30904 or a charity of one’s choice.
