Warrenton, GA-Mr. Jonathan Len Bivins of Warrenton, GA went to be with the Lord Jesus on Tuesday, January 27, 2015. Mr. Bivins was born on May 26, 1964 in Columbia, SC and lived most of his life in Augusta, Warrenton and Atlanta, GA.
Jon’s love and devotion to his Lord and his family took first place in his life. He was President of JLB Properties, LLC, a family owned and operated real estate and land development business in Georgia and South Carolina. He spent his early years in Columbia, SC and Augusta, GA where he attended Westminster High School and graduated from North Augusta High School. He attended Augusta College. Jon loved basketball, fishing and hunting. He loved sports and was an avid USC Gamecock fan. He and his many friends enjoyed annual bird shoots at his farm in Warren County. Jon knew no stranger. His unusual sense of respect for all people set him apart and endeared to him a large group of close friends wherever he went. He was deeply loved and will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his father: Larry A. Bivins and mother: Sue Helen McLemore Bivins of Augusta; sister: Susan Renee Bivins Price and her husband John M. Price IV, brother: Larry Carl Bivins of Grovetown, GA, niece: Jennifer Renee Bivins Ronan of Palm Coast, FL; nephew: Larry Brent Bivins of Manila, Philippines; aunts and uncles: Sylvia L. Pierce of Macon, GA, Elaine McLemore of Warner Robins, GA, James McLemore (Sandra) of Perry, GA, Phil Bivins (Marianne) of Gray, GA and Billy Bivins (Pat) of Macon, GA.
A funeral service will be observed on Thursday, February 5, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel at Thomas Poteet & Son with Dr. David McKinley officiating. A graveside service and interment will follow at Westover Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Del Lee, Doc Edwards, John Lee, Fred Sims, Ross Cathey, Brent Doonan, Michael Rouse and Kirk Morris. Honorary pallbearers will be Casey Jackson, Johnny Whitley, Nick Protos and Jason Smith.
Memorial contributions may be made to Warren Baptist Church at 3203 Washington Road, Augusta, GA 30907 or to Samaritans Purse at P.O. Box 3000 Boone, NC 28607.
