Evans, GA – Entered into rest Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at Brandon Wilde, Mr. Joseph B. Mannelly, 92, husband of Maureen Mayse Mannelly.

Mr. Mannelly was a native of Chicago, IL and resided in the Augusta area since 1946. He was actively involved as a member of St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church. Mr. Mannelly was a WW II Veteran serving in the 8th Army Air Corps. He was founder and CEO of Mannelly Finance Corporation. After selling his company, he joined SunTrust Bank as Vice President. Mr. Mannelly was President of the Cerebral Palsy Foundation and Committee Chairman of Boy Scout Troop 2. He was a member of the Board of Boys Club of Augusta and Westlake Country Club.

Family members in addition to his wife include daughter: Paige Eagan (Sherman) of Norwalk, CT; son: J.B. “Jay” Mannelly, Jr.; three grandsons and one granddaughter, Shannon Eagan; four great-grandsons and two great-granddaughters: Paisley Eagan and Tyler Mannelly; and brother, James Patrick Mannelly. He was predeceased by his daughter-in-law, Patty Mannelly.

A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, February 12, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church with Rev. Martino Nguyen officiating. Interment will follow at Westover Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Sherman Joseph Eagan, Joseph Bernard Mannelly III, James Patrick Mannelly, Joseph Bernard Mannelly IV, Ryan Hamilton Mannelly, Joseph Killian Eagan, and Andrew Wilson Mannelly.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Catholic Social Services, 811 12th Street, Augusta, GA 30901.

A Vigil for the deceased will be held Friday, February 11, 2011 at 6:00 P.M. at Thomas Poteet and Son and the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00 P.M.
