Joshua was born on February 27, 1992, in Augusta, GA, to Paul Sanders and Mica French. He grew up as an energetic boy before relocating with his family to Freeville, NY, in 2003. In Freeville, he attended Dryden High School and developed his passions for playing guitar, singing, writing music, video gaming, skiing and skateboarding. Joshua graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and worked in upstate New York before returning to Georgia in 2021. He raised chickens in upstate New York, explored the outdoors up and down the East Coast, travelled abroad with his family, and dabbled in gardening and carpentry. Joshua loved and adored his niece, Penelope, and embraced the joy of being an uncle to Penelope and her brothers, Baylor and Ledger. He and his brothers shared a special bond, providing countless laughs and camaraderie that will be cherished forever.
Joshua is survived by his three brothers: James P. Sanders and his wife Na Lee of London, William A. Sanders of Seattle, WA, and Wesley C. Sanders and his wife Courtney of Rocky Face, GA, along with his grandmother, Melva Miller of Pensacola, FL. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews: Penelope, Baylor, and Ledger. Additionally, Joshua leaves behind his uncle Marc and his wife Linda, his aunt Marci and her husband Andrew, his uncle Earl and his wife Renee, his uncle Glenn, and his cousins Chris, Alan, Jennifer, Brittany, Alec, Nancy, Anslee, Preston, and Harrison. He was predeceased by his mother, Mica, and his father, Paul.
