Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Saturday, February 24, 2018, Mrs. Joyce S. Burns, 87, loving wife to the late John “Bob” R. Burns.
Mrs. Burns was a native of Emanuel County but lived in Augusta for many years. She lived her life for her family.
Family members include her daughter: Denise Willard (Tommy); son: the late Tommie Townsend; daughter-in-law: Dianne Townsend; grandchildren: Chris Townsend (Crystal), Susan Godowns (Bill), Jason Willard (Karrie), and Windy Dembowski (Joel); great grandchildren: Cole Godowns, Anna Godowns, Nick Godowns, Ryan Townsend, Bo Townsend, Blakley Willard, Caroline Willard, Jonas Dembowski, Addison Dembowski, and Tyson Dembowski. In addition to her husband and son, she is preceded in death by nine siblings.
The funeral service will be Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Dr. Michael Davenport officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
