Joyce Nye Templeton

Augusta, GA – Entered into rest on September 28, 2024, Mrs. Joyce Nye Templeton, age 89, was a native of Woodruff, SC. She spent most of her life in Clinton, SC.

Joyce passed away after battling dementia for several years. Up until the end, she maintained kindness, compassion and love for her family and friends. She was an active member of Broad Street Methodist Church and later 1st Presbyterian Church. She was at her best when she cared for others by volunteering and serving in her community in many capacities.

Family members include her daughters: Laura Nye Jackson (Alan) of Hurricane Mills, TN, Jennifer Nye Williams (Murray) of Dothan, AL and Jessica Nye LaSure (Jeff) of Evans, GA; grandchildren: Carmen Parker Crane (Seth), Hannah Parker Dean (Patrick), Claire Williams Calderone (Matt), Andrew LaSure (Elizabeth), Parker LaSure (Leah) and Blaire LaSure Frey (Luke); six great grandchildren; brother: Gordon Godfrey (Diane) of Woodruff, SC and sister: Mary Alice G. Sczechewicz of Oxford, GA. Joyce was preceded in death by her husbands: Paul Edward Nye, Ross E. Templeton and William F. Thomas; parents: the late Hazel L. and Reverdie B. Godfrey.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on October 25th, 2024, at the Presbyterian Community in Clinton, SC.
