Augusta, GA – Entered into rest on Thursday, March 25, 2021, Mrs. Judith Richards Castle, 77, wife of the late Edward J. Castle.
Judy was a native and a lifelong resident of Augusta and retired from the Richmond County Waterworks Department. Since childhood, Judy was a member of the church that her father, Carl Richards, helped found, Burns Memorial United Methodist Church. In her later years she enjoyed socializing with her friends and fellow residents at St. John Towers, as well as reading as much as she could. More than anything, Judy enjoyed her family that included her son: John Hutcherson (Amy); daughter: Laurie H. Patterson (Tony); four grandchildren: Cameron Hutcherson, Kyler Hutcherson, Nick Patterson, Bryan James (Becca); and her great-grandchild: Sadie James. The family would like to thank Judith’s caregiver Doris Johnson for all the love and care given Judy.
The funeral service will be held Sunday, March 28, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Richard Nevard officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service, beginning at 1:00 P.M., at the funeral home.
