Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Saturday, October 9, 2010, Mrs. Julia Gladys Maddox, 88, wife of 65 years to Curtis Clarence Maddox.

Mrs. Maddox was a native and lifelong resident of Augusta. She was a member of the first graduating class of Tubman School. Mrs. Maddox was a lifelong member of Pierce Memorial United Methodist Church, Young at Heart, and Hope Sunday School Class. She worked at the Augusta Arsenal and retired from Gracewood State School and Hospital in 1987. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Family members in addition to her husband include children: David Clarence Maddox, Judy Grace Maddox Whaley, Phillip Drew Maddox and wife Jill, Terry Lynn Maddox and wife Deborah; grandchildren: Chadwick Daniel Medlin, Amanda Nicole Medlin Bellotti, Sarah Grace Maddox, Joshua Terrance Maddox, Matthew Justin Maddox, Trevor Clarence Maddox, Hannah Joyce Maddox; great-grandchildren: Joshua Wyatt Maddox, Chadwick Noah Medlin, and Isabella Grace Bellotti.


Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at Pierce Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Susan Gilbert officiating. Interment will follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Chadwick Medlin, John Belotti, Joshua Maddox, Matthew Maddox, Trevor Maddox, and Ryan Wagner.

Memorials may be made to Pierce Memorial United Methodist Church, 1441 Jackson Rd Augusta, GA 30909-2768.
