June Alma Brandon, 77 of Augusta, Georgia entered into rest on the 13th of April at Doctors’ Hospital.
She was a long time member of Morningside Baptist Church where she faithfully taught children in Sunday school, Training Union, Mission Friends and AWANA Cubbies. She was an active member of the ladies Sunday school class and a member of the Choir. She was employed as a book keeper for many years at her family’s business, Brandon Mill Supply, later taking care of her elderly father. She returned to work at Happy Land Playhouse in Aiken, South Carolina as a child care provider where she retired.
She was a resident of St. John Towers for 7 years and was crowned Miss. Unique in the 2013 Beauty Pageant. June had a servant’s heart. She loved to serve the Lord and that was evident in her life. She found great joy in teaching children of the amazing love of God. She loved her family and enjoyed traveling, shopping and going out to lunch with them.
She was proceeded in death by her parents Robert Turner Brandon Sr and Ollie Mae Godman, her brothers Robert Turner Brandon Jr and Robert Malpass. She is survived by a Sister-in-law: Deana Brandon, Niece: Melinda (Jessy) Willmon, Nephew: Shawn (Tara) Brandon, Great- Nephew: Dylan Brandon, all of Hephzibah, Georgia, Adopted Family: Dean and Sunnie Faw, Aiken, South Carolina, numerous cousins and many friends.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, April 18th at 12 noon at Poteet Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wally Hoyle officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Frank Malpass Sr, Tommy Pennington, Dylan Brandon, Bob Mason, Arlon Herndon and Tim Malin Sr.
