Mrs. June Ganelle “Gay” Boatman

Martinez, GA – Mrs. June Ganelle “Gay” Boatman entered into rest and joined her Lord on Good Friday, March 29, 2013.

Mrs. Boatman was a native of Atlanta, GA and wife to the late Ulysses Simpson “U.S.” Boatman. Gay and U.S. moved to Augusta over 50 years ago. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend and neighbor. Mrs. Boatman was a member of Trinity on the Hill United Methodist Church and the Damren Sunday School Class.

Family members in addition to her late husband include daughter: the late Sandra Gail Anderson and husband Bill; sons: William “Bill” Boatman and wife Kathy, John Boatman and wife Lisa; grandchildren: Troy Guthrie and wife Ellen, Chris Guthrie, Clay Boatman and wife Connie, Adam Boatman and wife Ansley, Katy Boatman, Ian Boatman; and great-grandchildren: Mary Elizabeth Guthrie, John Guthrie, Shelby Boatman and Blake Boatman. Mrs. Boatman was the daughter of Jessie and James Creighton and the sister of Donald Creighton and his wife Mary Frances.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at 10:30 A.M. at Trinity on the Hill United Methodist Church with Rev. Greg Hatfield officiating, followed by visitation in the Gathering Room at the church. Private family interment will be held at Westover Memorial Park.
