June Perkins Herndon

Evans, GA – Mrs. Dorothy June Perkins Herndon, loving wife of 62 years to Ralph Herndon, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, February 7, 2014.

She was born to Norris and Gussie Perkins on August 30, 1931 in Augusta, GA. She graduated from Tubman High School in 1949. She worked as a Medical Assistant for many years. She was a member of Pineview Baptist Church. She was an avid reader, talented artist, and loved shopping and working crossword puzzles. Above all, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Along with her husband she is survived by three children: Linda H. Bradford and husband Carl, Susan H. Stafford Hawes and husband Jesse, and Ralph P. Herndon and wife Rhonda; grandchildren: Tom Bradford, Barrett Stafford, Will Herndon, Zac Bradford, Brian Bradford, and Lauren Brown; great grandchildren: Claire Bradford, Kaden Bradford, Blake Herndon, Collin Bradford, Camryn Herndon, and Ethan Marsh; sisters: Marie Streeter and Eleanor Swain.

The family will welcome friends Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors, 214 Davis Rd., Augusta, GA 30907 (706) 364-8484.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at 3:00 P.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Dr. Michael Davenport officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be the grandsons.
