June Marie Peters
Martinez, GA – Entered into rest on Monday, November 7, 2022, June Marie Peters, 74, after battling cancer.
June was born in Augusta, Georgia on September 19, 1948, to William and Flonnie Cox. After meeting on a blind date, June and Wayne celebrated 56 years of marriage. She worked within the Columbia County school system for 22 years doing what she loved, working with children. June was also a founding member of the Martinez Church of Christ.
Those left to cherish June’s memory are her husband: Wayne Peters; sons: Michael Peters (Frances) and Mark Peters (Jessica); grandchildren: Abby Thornton (James), Jacob Peters, Madison Peters; great granddaughter: Brianna Thornton; niece: Carla Bailey (Michael); and brother and sister-in-law: Jerry and Peggy Peters. She was preceded in death by her parents and four sisters.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 12, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son.
