Karen Kerr Thornton

Augusta, GA – Karen Kerr Thornton, of Augusta Georgia went home to be with the Lord on October 26th, 2023 surrounded by her children.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert A. Kerr and Georgia M. Kerr. Karen was a devoted mother and grandmother, affectionately known by her two granddaughters as Kiki. Karen was a creative and talented decorator and a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Augusta.

She is survived by her three children, Amanda Winters Thornton Wiggins, David James Thornton Jr., Caroline Thornton Weaver (Chaston) and her granddaughters, Lucille Jane Wiggins and Cameron Scott Weaver. Her brothers, Robert A. Kerr (Vicky) and M. Tracy Kerr (Joan). Karen will be loved, missed and honored by her family forever.

A memorial service will be held Monday, November 6, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Mark Maund officiating.
