Kathryn Ann Zwickel, 78, entered into rest on March 25th, 2023, at Augusta University Medical Center. She was born on March 14th, 1945 to the late Hadley DeLorme and Frances Day Brown.
Kathryn Ann was preceded in death by her husband of 27 years, David R. Zwickel; her beloved sister, Rebecca “Becky” Skelton; and brother-in-law, Raymond Skelton.
She is survived by her only daughter, Karen Brown (Brian); her grandchildren, Megan, Kristen, Matthew, Michael, and Jeremy Brown; her younger brother, Bill Brown; her brother-in-law Daniel Zwickel; and her two great-grandchildren, Brielle Ann Skeete and Julian Adonis Smith.
Kathryn was a graduate of Richmond Academy High School in Augusta, GA. She received a diploma from Palmer Business College to later obtain a career as a medical receptionist.
She was a devoted Pentecostal Christian and was a loved member at Living Word Christian Center in Augusta, GA. She spiritually touched everyone around her, and her life brought much light to this world. She loved all of her family, extended family, and best friends more than anything. She always did whatever it took to make sure everyone she cared for was okay.
Kathryn also adored musicians Johnny Mathis and Rod Stewart. She had a passion for dogs, and she loved going to the beach. This was a love she passed onto her daughter and granddaughters.
We may have lost our mother, sister, our “Gema”, aunt, or friend, but Heaven has gained one of the best angels of them all. We find peace in knowing that she is no longer suffering. She is no longer in pain.
A memorial service for Kathryn will be held on Friday, April 7th, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Living Word Christian Center, located at 3018 Old McDuffie Rd. Augusta, GA 30906. Interment will follow at Westover Cemetery at 2601 Wheeler Rd., Augusta, GA 30909.
