AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Keith Lloyd Davis, M.D., passed away, January 2, 2010, husband of Lori W. Davis.
Dr. Davis started his private practice of plastic surgery, Plastic Surgery Pavilion in Evans, GA, in 1996. His practice concentration was aesthetic surgery. Later, Dr. Davis co-founded a comprehensive vein clinic with vascular surgeon Steven M. Roth, M.D. The Vein Care Pavilion has locations in Nashville, TN, Raleigh NC, Augusta GA, and Atlanta GA.
Dr. Davis proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Rangers, Special Forces. The Army re-called Dr. Davis to active duty during the first Gulf War to serve with the plastic surgery department at Eisenhower Medical Center. He remained at Eisenhower for two years and acted as Assistant Chief of Plastic and Microsurgery. Thereafter, Dr. Davis and his wife chose to remain in Augusta, GA. Later, Dr. Davis served as a private contract physician at Fort Bragg, North Carolina with a Special Operations Unit.
Dr. Davis received his medical training from Louisiana State University – Charity Hospital, Michigan State University and Meharry Medical College. He graduated from Vanderbilt University with a bachelor’s degree of science. He graduated high school from Peabody Demonstration School/University School of Nashville.
He was born in New Britain, CT., on October 14 1957 at New Britain General Hospital. Dr. Davis was an accomplished musician playing the oboe with the Nashville Youth Symphony Orchestra, during high school. He also played ice hockey for Vanderbilt University, and sailed for the Vanderbilt University yacht club.
Dr. Davis is married to Lori W. Davis, of Dothan, Alabama, with two sons, Michael Pearson and Joseph McNeill. He is also survived by parents: Michael D. Davis, M.D. and Stephanie Olejarz Davis; brothers, Stephen M. (Sally) Davis, M.D., Martin D. (Katherine) Davis; nephews, Stephen M. Davis, Jr., Martin D. Davis, Jr., Henry M. Davis; niece, Caroline A. Davis. Dr. Davis was a member of Downtown Kiwanis Club of Augusta, Sage Valley Country Club, The Augusta Country Club, West Lake Country Club, and the Laurel Ridge Country Club of Waynesville, N.C. He enjoyed shooting sports, LSU football, golfing, and other family activities.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at 12:15 P.M. at the Church of the Most Holy Trinity with Fr. Michael Lubinsky, Fr. Mark Van Alstine and Fr. John T. Denny O.S.A. as concelebrants of the Mass. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Nashville, with a graveside service Thursday, January 7, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be: Martin D. Davis, Stephen M. Davis, M.D., Steven M. Roth, M.D., Bruce Wilkerson, M.D., David Volpitto, MD., Robert Adams, M.D., Brian Berlingame, M.D., David B. Carter, D.M.D. Andy Jones, Deograci (Poppo) Quinones, M.D., Tom Donner, M.D., and James B. Johnson, M.D. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Major General Gary Harrell, Richard N. Williams, Steven Powell, Ike Eisenbarth, and Rainier Gonzalez.
