Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Tuesday, January 12, 2010, Mr. Kenneth Dean Elston , 69, husband of Renate Elston.

Mr. Elston was a native of Spencer, IA. After high school he served in the U.S. Air Force 8 years, and then spent 12 years in the U.S. Army retiring in the rank of Major. He worked at Savannah River Site for several years. Mr. Elston was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church. He is best known as a loving father and husband who enjoyed the outdoors and living by Lake Thurmond.

Family members in addition to his wife include his daughters: Tanya Burnette (Larry) of Atlanta, Stefanie Newhall ( David) of Augusta; brothers: Theodore Elston, David Elston, Richard Elston; and sister: Julie Elston.


Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 16, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at Thomas Poteet & Son with Pastor Alex Hoffner and Pastor David Keener officiating. Entombment will follow at Westover Memorial Park. The family will receive friends after the service.
