Augusta, GA – Kenneth Andrew Cone, 78, husband of Diane Amacker Cone entered into rest Saturday, November 16, 2013.

He was born in Lodge, South Carolina on July 26, 1935 to the late Agnes Valentine Cone and Herman Andrew Cone.

Mr. Cone is survived by his daughter, Kelly Christine, his son, Kenneth Andrew Cone, Jr. and his daughter, Kathryn Anne Lempereur and her husband, Dominique Lempereur of Bethel, Connecticut. He is also survived by three beloved grandchildren, Rebecca Victoria Lempereur, Lauren Christina Lempereur, and Thomas Dominique Lempereur.

Other family members include sisters, Theresa Gordon of Augusta GA, Barbara Schmunk of Dallas TX, and Diane Laffin of Lugoff, SC, and the late Janet Walker of Augusta GA, also numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Cone attended Bishop England High School in Charleston, SC and was a 1956 graduate of Boys Catholic High School in Augusta. He served in the United States Marine Corps Reserve. He was a member of Local 150. He owned and operated Cone Plumbing and Heating Company for many years.

He was a faithful member of St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church and showed his stewardship in many ways. He was active in the Prison Ministry, Kairos, The Cursillo, Right to Life, Eucharistic Adoration and the Living Rosary, and was also a member of the Legion of Mary.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, November 21, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church with Fr. Gerald Ragan celebrant. Pallbearers will be his nephews Jim Gordon, Paul Gordon, Andrew Gordon, William (Billy) Gordon, Michael Schmunk, Travis Laffin, Trey Laffin, Ben Walker, and Bruce Walker.

Memorial contributions may be made to Catholic Social Services at 811 12th St., Augusta, GA 30901.
