Kimberly Hynes

Mrs. Kimberly Clevenger Hynes

Mrs. Kimberly Clevenger Hynes, 49, entered into rest on October 9, 2011 to be with our Lord, Jesus Christ. Kim was a native of Morgantown, WV and lived in Martinez, GA. A celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on October 15, 2011 at 3 o’clock at Wesley United Methodist Church, 825 N. Belair Rd., Evans (706-869-0888). The family will receive friends after the service at the church.

Kim graduated from Morgantown High School, then earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering (Pi Tau Sigma) from West Virginia University, and was a member of Alpha Phi Sorority. After working in the Nuclear Engineering Department at Charleston Naval Shipyard, Kim became a homemaker and mother of three beautiful daughters. Kim was an active member of Wesley United Methodist church and previously was a Board member for the school’s Mothers Day Out Program. She was also a previous Board member for the Petersburg Racquet Club Swim Team.

Kim was a rock of strength for her family and committed her loving and caring life to helping others battle cancer. Kim was very active as a Relay for Life Team member and Captain raising funds for cancer research to defeat cancer. Her radiant smile and caring manner will be missed by those many lives she touched. Kim loved crafts, such as scrapbooking and stamping cards, but especially loved late afternoons and sunsets at the beach.

Kim leaves to cherish her memories: a loving and devoted husband of 24 years, JJ Hynes; three daughters, Katie Hynes, Molly Hynes, and Maggie Hynes, all of Martinez, GA. Additionally, she is survived by her parents: Mary and Jim Clevenger of Morgantown, WV; brothers Jimmy Clevenger (Ruthie) of Virginia Beach, VA, Joe Clevenger (Beth) of Virginia Beach, VA; nephews Wes and Walt Clevenger, Quinn and Ian Clevenger, Matt Tucker; niece Amanda Tucker; mother-in-law Pat Hynes of Stafford, VA; sister-in-law Kerrie Tucker of Stafford, VA; brother-in-law Bill Tucker of Stafford, VA.

If desired, in lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in Kim’s memory to the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life of Augusta, 2607 Commons Blvd., Augusta, GA. A luminaria will be lit at the Relay for Life of Augusta for all memorials made in Kim’s honor.
