Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Tuesday, July 11, 2017, Lelia T. “Lyn” Smith, 73, wonderful and loving wife of R. Lee Smith, Jr; and mother of: Chris Smith (Alison); granddaughters: Madison and Kate Lee.

Mrs. Smith was born in Seattle, WA and was a native of Jacksonville, FL. and Savannah, GA. She graduated from Bennett College in New York where she majored in Interior Decorating. She lived in Augusta since 1969. She was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd and a former member of the Savannah Junior League and Augusta Junior League. She was also a Sustaining member of the Augusta Junior League. She was one of the initial volunteer decorators for the Phinizy Swamp Soirée for the Nature Park. Mrs. Smith was a homemaker and loved spending time in Augusta and Highlands, NC. She was a member of The Bascom in Highlands. She enjoyed interior decorating and gardening and was a former member of the Wood Valley Garden Club.

A graveside service will be held Monday, July 17, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at Summerville Cemetery with The Rev. Robert D. Fain officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
