Augusta, GA – Entered into rest on Wednesday, September 15, 2021, Dr. Leon Hays Bush, 90, husband of Mrs. Gloria Thomas Bush.
Leon was a native of Colquitt, GA. He graduated from Florida State University, University of Georgia, and was a 1963 graduate of the Medical College of Georgia. He completed his internship at University Hospital and Hillman Clinic in Birmingham, AL (1963-1964) and his internal medicine residency at the Medical College of Georgia (1964-1967). He was in private practice in internal medicine in Albany, GA (1967-1978) and Augusta, GA (1978-retirement). He served as a delegate to the Medical Association of Georgia and president of the Richmond County Medical Society.
Family members in addition to his wife include his children Ashley Bush and Jeffrey Bush.
Services will be private at Westover Memorial Park with Dr. Kenneth Word officiating.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of the Pavilion at Brandon Wilde who cared for Dr. Bush.
