Lieutenant Colonel Barbara Leisey (Ret USAF, MSC)
Grovetown, GA – Surrounded by family and friends Lt Col Leisey, 67, passed away on January 28, 2021
A 1971 graduate of Bishop Guilfoyle High School in Altoona PA. Shortly after graduating, she attended Lancaster General Hospital school of nursing graduating in the class of 1974.
Following, she attended Florida International University in Miami after matriculation, graduating with a Baccalaureate in Hospital Administration in 1978.Col Leisey then joined the United States Air Force and retired after completing 8 assignments, a masters degree from Golden Gate University in Public Administration and Air War College. An avid tennis player, Barbara enjoyed spending time playing tennis with her incredible group of friends and their nearly famous Wednesday lunches. She was blessed with innumerable blessings but the biggest joy in her life is her marriage to Lucy Anderson in an over thirty year relationship followed by the passing of the 14th Amendment SAME SEX COUPLE MARRIAGES ARE NOW RECOGNIZED IN ALL STATES.

Barbara, was a devoted student of guitar, harmonica, French and gardening. She is predeceased by her parents and her sister Peggy. She is survived by her sister Ginny Grimme of State College, PA. As well as 5 nieces/ nephews and Jerry Loughner, widower of her sister Peggy. Jerry and his wife Linda call The western shore of Maryland home.
Per her wishes, there will be no viewing. Burial will at the Beaufort National Cemetery SC with full military honors. The burial is open. Time, date and further details to be determined.
